VIRTUAL CONSULTATION

Virtual Consultation Advisory Service – Policy & Terms

1. Purpose of the Service

The AnsMed Virtual Consultation Service provides clients and their families with professional guidance and advisory support regarding the care of individuals receiving home care services. The purpose of this service is to offer general health guidance, care advice, and professional insights to support ongoing home care management.

2. Nature of the Service

Virtual consultations are conducted remotely through an online platform (e.g., Google Meet). During the consultation, the client and/or family members will connect with an AnsMed Care Coordinator and a qualified health professional.

The consulting professional may review relevant information from the client’s electronic health folder and provide general advice and guidance related to the client’s condition, care needs, and wellbeing.

3. Advisory Nature of Consultations

Virtual consultations provided through this service are strictly advisory in nature. They are intended to offer professional guidance, education, and recommendations regarding care.

These consultations:

  • Do not replace a physical medical examination.
  • Do not constitute a formal medical diagnosis.
  • Do not constitute direct medical treatment.
  • Should not be considered a substitute for in-person consultation with a medical practitioner when necessary.

Clients and families are encouraged to seek direct medical attention at a healthcare facility when urgent or clinical intervention is required.

4. Scope of Professionals

The service shall be provided by qualified professionals or health facilities engaged by or partnered with AnsMed. These may include Dietitians, Medical Doctors, and other relevant healthcare specialists depending on the needs of the client.

5. Scheduling and Duration

Each consultation session may last for up to 20 minutes.

To access the service, the client must book the consultation through the Care Coordinator. The client will then be scheduled for the next available day and time.

6. Participation

Consultations typically involve the client and/or family representative, the AnsMed Care Coordinator, and the consulting professional.

An assigned caregiver may join the consultation when the client or family approves.

Clients are encouraged to have relevant information available during the session, including updates on the client’s condition, medications, and any concerns they wish to discuss.

Virtual consultation is an add-on or complimentary feature depending on the client’s package or service plan

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All consultations will be conducted with respect for client confidentiality. Information shared during consultations and stored in the client’s electronic health folder will be handled in accordance with AnsMed’s confidentiality and data protection policies.

Consultation sessions may be recorded for training and quality assurance purposes.

8. Limitations of Virtual Consultations

Due to the remote nature of the service, the consulting professional may be limited in their ability to fully assess the client’s condition. Advice provided will therefore be based on the information available at the time of consultation.

AnsMed shall not be held liable for decisions made by clients or families based solely on advisory guidance provided during virtual consultations.

9. Service Availability

The virtual consultation service will be offered periodically depending on demand and professional availability.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in the AnsMed Virtual Consultation Service, the client and/or family acknowledges that they understand the advisory nature of the service and agree to these terms.
